Michael Haughn began his insurance career in 1970 with Marsh & McLennan, the world’s largest insurance broker. He expanded his management techniques and insurance expertise during subsequent employment with Frank B. Hall and Corroon & Black of Ohio. Later, he bought an interest in and served as president of a major, local insurance agency where he refined those techniques increasing productivity and creating an effective management team.

In 1986, Michael founded Haughn & Associates (H & A).  H & A began as a specialist in the construction industry by providing insurance services and products to contractors and their suppliers.  Over the years, we have expanded our expertise to service many other types of businesses and also offer specialized and tailored insurance packages in numerous niche areas.





Brian Haughn, President

Brian Haughn is currently the President of Haughn & Associates, one of Central Ohio’s largest full service insurance agencies.  Brian’s history as a project manager for a large foundation drilling contractor has allowed him to gain a unique insight into the day-to-day challenges of a construction company, especially managing large projects spread across the nation.  Due to this experience Brian has excelled in building an insurance program that is tailor fitted to the needs of his clients.  While focusing on the best in class contractors who operate within the most difficult risk arenas Brian has set himself apart in the market place as a true expert in risk management.

Brian Haughn is currently licensed in Property & Casualty insurance and handles business in the majority of the 50 states.  Brian Graduated from Colorado State University in 1996 with a Bachelor of Art in Construction Management.  He currently holds a board of director position with the Associated Builders and Contractors Central Chapter and sits on the American Subcontractor Associations counsel for the central Ohio Chapter.

Michael W. Haughn, Chairman

Michael, founder of Haughn & Associates, has earned his reputation as an expert in insurance through over thirty-five years of dedicated service to the industry. He was the first trainee of the world’s largest insurance brokerage and a former Vice President and Manager of the Construction Division of a local national brokerage firm, where he served on the National Construction Advisory Board as a resource. In addition, Michael was also partner and President of a local construction based agency. He is knowledgeable in all aspects of the insurance industry, but his expertise lies in property, casualty, and surety bonds. He is domestically licensed in Property & Casualty and Life & Health and holds non-resident insurance licenses in the majority of the 50 states. Michael graduated from Kent State University with a BBA in Economics and Finance.


Barry C. Fonarow, CPCU, Senior Vice President

Barry offers nearly 30 years of experience in underwriting, sales and marketing in the insurance industry. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Kentucky and is licensed in Property & Casualty. In 1990, he earned the CPCU designation. Barry is involved in the sale and service of commercial property and casualty insurance and works closely with the president to further develop the agency’s market and vendor relationships , as well as, the overall management of the firm. Barry is involved in various construction related organizations.
